To promote and broad base sports in India.

To train National Teams for participation in International Competitions.

To prepare high caliber coaches and to enrich their competence and knowledge.

To provide scientific backup to the National Campers and SAI trainees for achieving higher performance in sports.

To identify talents and nurture them through various SAI Sports promotional schemes.

To Co-operate with other sports organizations and to provide information promotion, development and excellence in sports.

To implement and monitor the sports promotional schemes of SAI and Government of India in Southern Region.
